This question has come to haunt the PDA and the Margao council as a mound of waste has come up just outside the compound wall in the adjoining low-lying area.
That the waste has been lying unattended for some time now is evident by the fact that the dump has grown into a mound at a site on the eastern side of the PDA market.
In the past, waste from the SGPDA market was finding its way to the PDA parking lot near the Sulabh toilet block. Unscrupulous elements are responsible for the unauthorized and haphazard dumping of waste in the low lying area.
Sources informed the MMC has not lifted away the waste for reasons best known to the civic babus, while the PDA must have maintained silence since the waste has found its way outside the market jurisdiction.
