Watchman assaulted, property damaged at Saligao

About 10 persons entered a construction property at Saligao and assaulted a watchman, damaged seven two-wheelers and a car and other property on Sunday.
According to Saligao Police, Mamta Khaparde of Alto Porvorim complained that about 10 persons carrying wooden sticks and iron rods trespassed into her property leased at Grand Morod, Saligao on Sunday and assaulted the night watchman on duty with wooden sticks and rods, causing serious injury to his head and other parts of the body.
The police further informed that the accused damaged seven two-wheelers that were parked in the compound and a car which was parked outside the compound.
The accused also broke window panes by pelting stones and with sticks and rods, damaged fixtures including CCTV cameras and fire extinguisher thereby causing damage of about Rs 6 lakh.
The miscreants also threatened Khaparde's son and his friend of dire consequences.
Police is investigating the case.
