Crime Branch officials conducted a narcotic raid yesterday near Mapusa and apprehended a suspect, identified as Rabiul Hossain Sarkar, 25, hailing from West Bengal, with ₹1.076 kg of ganja estimated to be worth around ₹1.05 lakh. The accused has been booked under Section 20 (b) (ii) (B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The team led by Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Girish T. Padloskar found Sarkar at the scene, who is currently living in the Market Yard area of Mapusa.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
