Panchayat Minister and Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho has informed that he would be inaugurating the beautified Vaddem lake next month. Godinho also informed that the project is almost complete and a small final touch is being given to the project. He also said that development works are being undertaken across the state.

“The beautified Vaddem lake will have three floating fountains, a walking track, seating arrangement for senior citizens, aesthetic lighting besides an amphitheater. It will be one of the most beautiful projects in Goa with a wow factor. I am inaugurating the much awaited project next month. Developmental work is taking place across all constituencies. On an average one new project will be inaugurated every two months. There is unnecessary noise about the Chief Minister to step down. The CM is willing to give away the position any day but has been instructed by the high command to continue to be the CM,” said Godinho.

Speaking on giving more devolution of power to panchayat, Godinho said panchayats already have enough powers to do good work. “As far as devolution of more powers to the Panchayat or Zilla Parishad, I think they have enough powers to do good work. If you have noticed, the increase in devolution comes with devolution of more funds. Since no developmental proposal is coming from some panchayats, I am introducing a concept known as ‘Smart Village’ where parameters that can improve the living condition will be adopted. We are coming up with this scheme where the panchayat will have a lot of work to do and we will be giving them directions,” he said.
