MARGAO
Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral on Tuesday said the people of Margao, Fatorda and Curtorim should elect BJP candidates in the ensuing polls and help the government to resolve the Sonsodo imbroglio once and for all.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the inauguration of an MRF facility at Aquem-Baixo village panchayat on Tuesday, Cabral even offered to resign from the Assembly if Sonsodo is not resolved by the government in the event the BJP wins in these constituencies.
Blaming the political class for the Sonsodo mess, Cabral focus has to be on finding solutions to problems rather than passing the buck.
“Give us the MLAs in Margao, Fatorda and Curtorim and we will find a unique solution to the Sonsodo problem. Our experiment and technology at Saligao have been successful. A similar plant at Curchorem could not be commissioned because of the Covid situation,” he said.
Complimenting the Aquem-Baixo village panchayat for setting up the MRF facility in the village, Cabral cautioned that the High Court and the Supreme Court are monitoring the progress of works of the MRF facilities in the villlages.
On reports that some political parties have met him to wean him away from the BJP, Cabral said he is a worker of the BJP and will remain so. He said no one has met him and he has no plans to leave BJP.
