South Goa district Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Dania, IPS has tested positive for coronavirus.
The district police have requested all those who have come in contact with him to get tested as a matter of caution.
Meanwhile, there seems to be no let up in the number of Covid cases in the Margao Urban Health jurisdiction with the figure crossing the 300-figure mark on Tuesday.
A health bulletin states that the number of cases has touched 348 on Tuesday as against 271 on Monday.
The number of cases at the Cansaulim PHC, which has in its jurisdiction some of the Salcete villages, touched 223 on Tuesday.
Similarly, Chinchinim PHC reported 95 cases on Tuesday and Loutolim 99.
