One person died while another was seriously injured when two scooters collided with each other at Casarvarnem-Pernem on Wednesday.
According to reports, Sujata Satardekar (25), who worked at the Manohar International Airport, was returning home from work in the morning on her scooter, while Frasier Mascarenhas (22) was riding the other scooter.
Mopa police conducted the panchanama and Mascarenhas was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
There has been a number of road mishaps in Pernem taluka, and locals attribute these accidents to lack of road discipline.
On Tuesday a 50-year-old citizen from Sindhudurg was killed on the spot in an accident at Sukekulan, Dhargal on the National Highway 66.
