Newly elected Sancoale Sarpanch Ramakant Borkar on Friday said work on the new Panchayat Ghar would begin by the first week of December.
Borkar was speaking to reporters after a special meeting had been convened on the no-confidence motion against Deputy Sarpanch Kavita Kamal.
"As of now, we have floated around 22 development-related tenders. By next month after taking into consideration the works of all wards, 40-50 additional tenders will be floated. We are in the process of completing all pending development works, after which we look into the main target of the new Panchayat Ghar," said Borkar.
"The process of the new Panchayat Ghar has already been started and by the first week of December, we will coordinate with Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho and start the work,” he said.
The sarpanch said the Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited had given land to the panchayat and it would be used to build a shed to store dry waste from the village.
“We will also make provisions to handle wet garbage, which will put an end to the dumping of garbage along the roads. Our focus is on development and we will be united in taking up these projects, immaterial of ruling and opposition panchas," said Borkar.
