Youth should focus on agri bizz, use changing technology: Deviya

Dr Deviya Rane, Poriem MLA and Chairman of Goa Forest Development Corporation stated that farmers must take advantage of the changing technology. Young people should get involved in agriculture and try to contribute to the agricultural sector. Sattari Taluka Shetkari Society has provided a wide range of assistance to the farmers by providing various types of seedlings to the farmers at reasonable rates.
"In the coming time, through this organisation, a revolution will be created in Sattari taluka through agricultural development," she added.
She was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a nursery started on the land owned by Shantabai Shantaram Desai at Advai through Sattari Taluka Shetkari Sahakari Society.
The nursery was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon.
Speaking on the occasion, Deviya Rane said that a large number of organic fertilisers are being used today. As a result, demand for organic vegetables and fruits is increasing. Due to this, she appealed to use organic manure in organic farming in the future.
She also appealed to implement various schemes through Valpoi Agriculture Department and give impetus to the agricultural development of Sattari taluka from that point of view.
On this occasion, the chairman of the society Pandurang Gavas, Sarpanch of Bhironda Panchayat Tereza Andhra, Keri ZP Member Devyani Gavas, Vice Chairman of the society and Honda ZP Member Sagun Wadkar, former Sarpanch of the Panchayat and existing Panch Member Udaysingh Rane were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Marathe said that Sattari Taluka Shetkari Sahakari Sanstha has started a good initiative. As it is a charitable organisation for the benefit of the farmers, the work done by them in the form of subsidies to the farmers through the nursery is very commendable.
Pandurang Gavas appealed to the farmers to avail a large number of agricultural implements which are available in the Voluntary Depot at Valpoi through a 100% subsidy. Emphasis will be laid on the sale of organic fertilisers from next year and he appealed to the farmers to take advantage of this.
