Zacarias is SG Cong vice prez
PANAJI: Former sarpanch of Telaulim, a leader from Telaulim-Navelim Zacarias Goes was appointed as vice president of South Goa District Congress Committee. A letter to that effect was handed over to Goes at a function held at Goa Pradesh Congress Committee office at Panaji. President of South Goa District Congress Subhash Faldesai was present.
Goes is associated with the Congress party for more than three decades and was the Navelim block youth Congress president from 1992 to 1996. He has also served on the Navelim block Congress committee. and was also the director of Goa Handicrafts and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation and has also served as member on the Telephone Advisory Committee.
Goes was elected twice to the Telaulim panchayat and has also served as sarpanch of the village.
Goes is slated as the Congress candidate to contest from Navelim constituency for the next Assembly election.
