‘CM, MPs treated like puppets by Modi govt’

MARGAO

Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP government at the Centre gives scant regards to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s communication on matters concerning Goa.

He said this sordid fact can be gauged by many indicators like non-fulfillment of the April 15, 2013, unanimous resolution passed by the Goa Assembly for granting Special Status to the State, besides the failure to resolve the mining closure issue.

“Importantly, another issue for the last five years of the State’s Law Department which is connected with issuance of appropriate notification for increasing the number of notaries from the current 350 to 450 is bearing no fruits. Parrikar’s three requests to Union Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad from 2014 to 2018 have met with mute response,” Reginaldo said.

“Our CM along with the three MPs are treated like puppets by PM Narendra Modi’s government . Sad to see Parrikar’s communication for the past five years cold shouldered,” he added.
