INS Viraat arrived and berthed at Mormugao Port Trust on March 5. She had, earlier this year, participated in the International Fleet Review at Visakhapatnam.
The aircraft carrier’s ‘Family Day at Sea’ carried a historical significance as the members of the legendary Sea Harrier squadron INAS 300, both past and present, were embarked
onboard.
INS Viraat is likely to be decommissioned by the end of the year and the Squadron will be decommissioned shortly, states a press note.
