D'souza hit out at Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida and requested him not to comment on the birthday celebration of his late brother Pascoal D'souza who contracted Covid while fighting for his people in a council meeting and had later expired of the virus.
"It is sad to see that Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida in a recent interview with the media spoke about the birthday celebration of my late brother and councillor Pascoal D'souza who was the first elected representative to succumb to Covid while he was a councillor. My brother had gone to fight for his people in a council meeting where he contracted Covid and succumbed to it. While he was alive, the councillors would celebrate his birthday but after his death, the residents of his ward celebrated his birthday in different parts of his ward and I don't understand why that upset Almeida."
"It is not right to comment on the sentiments of the people who still love him and have not forgotten his work for the last ten years in the ward. All our brothers are together and Almeida must not talk about other family matters or comment on a person who is not in this world, only for political mileage," said D'souza.
