19,000 beneficiaries yet to renew DDSY health cards

PANAJI
As the deadline for renewal of health insurance under the Deen Dayal Swastha Seva insurance scheme ended on September 30, it was found that 19,000 beneficiaries have not renewed their health insurance cards under the scheme.

"In Goa, 2.24 lakh people have registered under the scheme out of which 2.05 lakh people have renewed their insurance," informed Dr Balkrishna Pai, consultant for the scheme.

Some government servants have also not renewed their cards as they  are all covered under different schemes.

This time the renewal of the scheme was conducted through online mode, possibly inconveniencing the elderly people who are not familiar with the online process, thus failing to renew their cards.

The next renewal of the cards will be from July to September next year.
