All the five accused in the murder of Umesh Harijan (33) at Baina have been remanded to seven days in police custody.
Mormugao PI Raghoba Kamat informed reporters that three accused, Jumman Shaikh, Parshuram Dodamani and Durgappa Madar, who were absconding and detained on Sunday, were placed under arrest on Monday under Sections 143, 148, 341, 323 and 302 of IPC besides the sections of the Arms Act.
"The three accused have been produced before the JMFC and have been remanded to seven days in police custody. We had earlier arrested Amir Hussain and Deepak Sahani and their seven-day police custody ended today. They were also been produced before the JMFC and their police remand has also been extended by another seven days.”
“We have been interrogating with all the accused to find more details of this crime and the motive behind the murder. We are also trying to recover the crime weapons and also trying to find the vehicles and bikes used to commit the crime," said Kamat.
Mormugao police is further investigating the case under the supervision of PI Raghoba Kamat and guidance of DySP Rajesh Kumar.
