With 75 new cases being reported on Monday, there are 916 active Covid cases inin Pernem taluka.
The new cases weredetected in Parcem (5), Pernem town (9), Korgao (14), Mandrem (15), Morjim (9),Paliem (2), Tuem (3), Virnoda (5), Agarwaddo (1), Arambol (9) and Keri (3).
Meanwhile, locals have demanded that the Indoor Stadium at Sawalwaddo beconverted into a Covid Care Centre, especially since the State government hadalready taken over the stadium to start a Covid Care Centre.
Mandrem MLA DayanandSopte had already informed reporters that 150 beds could be accommodated in thestadium and 100 beds would be placed first.
Meanwhile, police have intensified action against those violating protocols andhas been fining violators Rs 200 for those found without masks in publicspaces.
