The State government has granted three months for accepting and processing the Voluntary Retirement scheme (VRS) to the government aided educational institutions.
Following a clearance from the government, the Directorate of Education (DoE) has constituted a two-member committee comprising of the Chairman of the School Managing Committee and deputy director of educational zone for approval and acceptance of the VRS applications.
The three months’ time period is with effect from September 14. In a circular issued to all the heads of the aided institutions, the Director of Education Shailesh Zingade has instructed them to accept the VRS applications, if any, and put it before the two-member committee.
“Once the application is accepted by the two-member committee, the same may be forwarded to the Dy. Director of Education of the respective zones to verify for onward submission to GIA section in the Directorate of Education, for further needful action,” he said.
The State government in November, last year, approved the VRS for group ‘C’ employees who are aged 45 years and above. The scheme was amended in February to extend the benefit to those employees who are less than 45 years in age but have completed 20 years of service.
