Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has urged South Goa Collector not to come under pressure and to initiate stringent action against the blatant violators of law in the Cuncolim Industrial estate that will act as a deterrent to other units.
Reacting to the Show Cause Notice cum Stop Work Order issued by Office of the Deputy Collector, District Judicial Branch to the industrial unit based on the complaint received by the Flying Squad for illegal land cutting and filling, Yuri has warned that no illegalities will be tolerated any more.
“There is illegal land cutting and filling happening in Cuncolim adjacent to Cuncolim Industrial Estate. The show cause notice has now directed the respondent M/s Global Ispat Limited to remain present in the office of the Town Planner, Town and Country Planning Department, Margao, either personally or through an authorized pleader with all necessary permissions, approvals and licenses within 24 hours”, he said.
Saying that some of the Industrial units are all out to destroy the land and greenery around Cuncolim Industrial Estate, the Opposition Leader pointed out that he had raised the issue several times in the Goa Legislative Assembly. “I will now wait and watch what action government will take against the violators," stated Yuri.
