Amthane, Tillari dams fill up

BICOHLIM: With about 93 mm of rainfall recorded in Bicholim taluka on Monday, the Amthane and Tillari dams have filled up and water likely to be released in the river at any time. Authorities have already asked those residing along the riverbanks to be on alert. Meanwhile, a number of houses have been damaged on account of heavy rains in the area.

Man has fatal fall off tree in Cotigao

CANACONA: A 50-year-old man from Cotigao died after falling off a cashew tree at Avem on Sunday morning while he was attempting to cut a branch of a cashew tree. Mono K Velip was cutting a branch that had extended towards the unused and an abandoned electricity alignment near a transformer, when he fell down along with the branch at Avem-Cotigao.
