CANACONA: A 50-year-old man from Cotigao died after falling off a cashew tree at Avem on Sunday morning while he was attempting to cut a branch of a cashew tree. Mono K Velip was cutting a branch that had extended towards the unused and an abandoned electricity alignment near a transformer, when he fell down along with the branch at Avem-Cotigao. Velip was badly injured and was shifted to the Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors on duty declared him dead on arrival.
