Andhra native found dead in public toilet at Zuarinagar

A 48-year-old man originally from Atmapur, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh but residing at Birla was found dead inside a Sulabh Sauchalaya public toilet near the Masjid in Zuarinagar, after being locked inside since early morning.

According to the police, the situation came to light after Panaji’s Police Control Room (PCR) received a call informing them that a man was locked inside the toilet and had not opened the door since 5 am.

By 4 pm, concerned members of the public took action, with one individual climbing the wall to unbolt the door from the inside. Upon opening the door, they found Shaikh Karimulla unresponsive on the floor.

A 108 ambulance was called to the scene, and medical personnel declared Karimulla dead. 

Police investigations revealed that Karimulla, who resided near a petrol pump in Birla, was known to have alcohol-related issues and frequently visited the area.

Verna police have registered a case of unnatural death under section 194 of the BNSS. PSI Pramila Fernandes is handling the investigation under the supervision of PI Melson Colaco, with guidance from Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam. Further inquiries are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding his death.
