The district authorities seemed to have not found the right place to house the swab collection centre once it is shifted from the South Goa district hospital.
If the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao was initially suggested as the possible venue for the swab collection centre, it was later suggested to set up the centre at the Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School, a move which came in for criticism as the campus is also the home for nuns, including senior citizens.
The authorities had then zeroed on the Nehru stadium at Fatorda as evident by the fact that senior officials had inspected the site along with sports officials.
Now, if sources are to be believed, the authorities are exploring the possibility of setting up the centre at Borda. A senior official, however, said no final decision has been taken yet and a final call will be taken after receiving the government’s nod.
