Power Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar on Wednesday said the BJP candidate will definitely win the Lok Sabha election from South Goa, adding that that the support of ex-Congress MLAs who crossed over to the ruling party will also help get votes.
“BJP candidate lost the last election by hardly 8,000 votes. Everyone knows why he faced defeat. This time South Goa seat will be won by a thumping majority,” Dhavalikar said.
The Maharashtrawadi Party Leader had supported the Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Months before that election, Dhavalikar who was Deputy Chief Minister, was unceremoniously dropped from the cabinet by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, following the split engineered in the MGP with two of its three MLAs -- Manohar (Babu) Ajgaonkar and Deepak Pauskar -- 'merging' with the BJP. Ajgaonkar was made Deputy Chief Minsiter and Pauskar was inducted in the cabinet with the hefty portfolio of PWD held by Dhavalikar then.
