MARGAO
The Konkan Railway police intercepted an individual from Maharashtra at the Margao Railway Station on Friday, seizing liquor valued at approximately Rs 8,000.
The police, stationed on platform No. 2, noticed a person behaving suspiciously, carrying a shoulder bag and handbag. Upon questioning regarding his presence on the platform, he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation and lacked the necessary platform ticket or proof of journey.
Identified as Jayesh, a resident of East Mumbai, Maharashtra, the individual aroused suspicion prompting a search of his belongings. The search revealed several bottles of liquor, estimated to be worth around Rs 8,806.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
