Burglars broke into the Shree Nagnath Mahadev temple at Lingabhat-Parra and stole Rs 70,000 from the cash box. The burglars cut open the iron grills of the window behind the temple and entered the temple. The incident was captured on CCTV camera.
The incident came to light on Friday at 7.45 am when the pujari of the temple went to perform the puja. On noticing the burglary, he informed the Devasthan President Ramakant Naik and the police was then notified. The suspects first tried to break open the lock at the main door of the temple and they failed to do so, they went to the back of the temple and cut the iron grills of the window to enter in the temple. Mapusa PI Sitakant Nayak along with Bablo Parab and Sushant Chopadekar conducted the panchanama of the incident.
