Cabinet okays amendment to Communidade Code

Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant led cabinet today accorded approved amendment to the Code of Comunidade, to restrain the change of zone other than for what it is allotted. An Ordinance in this regard would be promulgated. 


 According to the new rules, land that has been allotted for a specific purpose under the Comunidades system cannot be used for any other purpose.


The amendment aims to introduce Article 31 to the Goa Legislative Diploma. 


 CM Sawant also said  that bodies such as the Town and Country Planning (TCP), Panchayats, Municipal Councils, and Planning and Development Authorities (PDA) will no longer have the power to alter the designated use of such land. 


In addition, the Cabinet has revised the 'Job for Freedom Fighters' Children' scheme. The Chief Minister mentioned that there are still around 30 to 35 children of freedom fighters who need employment, and this revision aims to help those families in need.

Goa to implement Unified Pension Scheme

Panaji: Cabinet has given its approval, in principle, to implement a Unified Pension Scheme- a Central scheme-  for government employees in the state. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that under this new scheme, retired employees will receive a minimum pension of Rs 10,000 or 50% of their basic salary, whichever is higher. This decision is expected to benefit a large number of government employees, providing them with more financial security after retirement.…
