The roster on the EVMs for both the North and South Goa Lok Sabha seats for which Goans will vote on May 7 will get finalised on Monday evening when another crucial stage of the election process will be complete -- withdrawal of nominations.
Earlier on last Saturday the Returning Officers of both the constituencies had conducted scrutiny and found the nomination papers of eight candidates each valid.
Monday (April 22) is the date for withdrawal as per the schedule notified by the Election Commission of India.
In North Goa, the papers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Shripad Naik, Congress candidate Ramakant Khalap, Manoj Parab of RGP, Milan Wayangankar of Bahujan Samaj Party and Sakharam Naik of Akhil Bharatiya Parivar Party were declared valid by Returning Officer, Sneha Gite.
Nomination forms of three other independents -- Thomas Fernandes, Gajanan Naik and Shakeel Shaikh -- had also passed the test of Gite's scrutiny.
Gite, however, rejected the form of the Congress' dummy candidate Ashwin Khalap and three sets of forms filed by Mayem MLA Premendra Shet as a dummy candidate of the BJP.
In South Goa too the nomination papers of BJP's Pallavi Dhempo, Congress' Viriato Fernandes, RG's Rupert Perera, Bahujan Samaj Party's Dr Shweta Gawkar and Corruption Abolition Party's Harishchandra Naik were scrutinised and cleared by the Returning Officer Aswin Chandru.
Also the forms of Independents Alexey Fernandes, Dr. Kalidas Wayangankar and Deepkumar Mapari were found in order too.
Two applications of Ganesh Gawkar and one of Anita Fernandes -- both dummy candidates for the BJP and Congress respectively were rejected.
