Cops on lookout for car driver in hit-and-run case; woman injured

PANAJI

The Agassaim police are looking out for a car driver, involved in a hit-and-run case, which has injured a woman bike rider.  

According to information shared by the office of the public relations officer of Goa Police, on Sunday, the driver of a car bearing registration number GA-05-E-3436 drove in a rash and negligent manner resulting in the accident on Saturday evening. Alleged accused Neel Salkar, aged 23 years, is yet to be arrested.

“While proceeding from Dona Paula to Bambolim, he dashed an Activa scooter near Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium. The two-wheeler rider Manisha Mahajan was proceeding in the same direction. Instead of rendering the rider medical attention and informing the police about the accident, the accused driver fled from the spot,” it states.

The 43-year-old victim has sustained grievous injuries in the accident.
