With news of political crisis in Maharashtra where several NCP MLAs have joined ranks with BJP, Goa unit of the NCP has decided to stay strong with the Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP.
Speaking to reporters, NCP state president Jose Philip D'Souza maintained that nothing has changed for the Goa unit of the NCP.
" We have seen that some of the NCP legislators in Maharashtra have joined the BJP and even taken ministerial berths with Ajit Pawar becoming Deputy CM of Maharashtra. We will stay strong in Goa and be with our Supremo Sharad Pawar.
"We will have to wait for decisions and discussion of our leaders and our Supremo Sharad Pawar after which we will act accordingly. We will go forward with whatever conclusions that come after Sharad Pawar takes the final decisions," he added.
"But in the meanwhile, we want to make it clear that NCP Goa will not go with the BJP here like some people may think. We will take our final call after we get directions from Sharad Pawar and we will stand with the Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP, " said D'Souza.
