Covid deaths rise to 7 again, victim toll touches 616

The number of Covid-related deaths, which has been below six over the last week shot up to seven on Monday raising the Covid victim tally of Goa to 616.

The deceased persons include a 64 year-old man from Bicholim, a 67 year-old man from Chodan, a 73 year-old man from Cuncolim, a 73 year-old woman from Bicholim, a 75 year-old woman from Mapusa, a 57 year-old man from Cortalim and a 59 year-old man from Margao.

Five of the deaths occurred at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim while two were recorded at ESI Covid Hospital in Margao.

Presently, the total number of confirmed cases has touched 43,954 in Goa of whom 2,215 are active and 41,123 have recovered. The recovery rate in Goa is posted at 93.56 per cent.
