Dy collector mediates, resolves dispute between both groups

Bicholim Deputy Collector Ramesh Gaonkar on Wednesday mediated to resolve a dispute between the Rudreshwar Devasthan Samiti and the Sateri Devasthan Samiti, following clashes between two groups during the Rudreshwar Palkhi procession in Arvalem.

Gaonkar convened a joint meeting of representatives from both groups and listened to both sides.

He got both groups to give an assurance that they should exercise their rights in relation to each other's rights and there will be no interference from either side.

Later addressing a news conference, the Sateri Devasthan President Gitesh Malik and Rudreshwar Devasthan President Yashwant Madkar clarified that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Shripad Naik had no role to play in the clashes between two groups.

Sateri Devasthan President Gitesh Malik, Vice President Prakash Malik, Secretary Laxman Malik told media persons that the issue has been resolved.

Rudreswar Devasthan Committee Secretary Subhash Kinalkar explained that the administrator and Deputy Collector Ramesh Gaonkar had discussed the issues and had managed to arrived at a solution.

Rudreshwar Devasthan President Yashwant Madkar said a decisive solution has been reached on both sides regarding the temple dispute and there was no political interference.
