OLD GOA
The priest along with workers were busy in cleaning operations at the Laudato Si farm in Velus-Sattari, where several livestocks including pigs, hens, goats and ducks were killed in the floods.
Fr Felix Lobo, the priest incharge of the farm, said the loss suffered in the floods was not ascertained.
“Apart from the loss of livestock, the enclosure built to keep the livestock safe suffered extensive damages,” he added and stated that a huge amount of waste has entered the farm due to the floods.
“Our workers have started work on clearing the waste,” Fr Lobo informed.
To a question whether any government authority visited the farm to take stock of the situation, Fr Lobo replied in the negative.
“Only the fire brigade officials had visited on Friday to tell us to evacuate,” the priest added.
