Rear Admiral Philipose G Pynumootil, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area, called on Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday.

The FOGA appraised the governor and chief minister of the navy’s assistance to civil administration during natural calamities, search and rescue operations etc., including contribution of naval aircraft in Covid control measures of the State.

Various aspects of civil-military cooperation were discussed, and FOGA assured all support to the state administration towards humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) operations.

MAPUSAIn a move which could steer fishing boats away from fossil fuel, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) with the help of Directorate of Fisheries conducted trails to convert petrol-fuelled fishing boats to be fuelled by LPG.Dy Director of Fisheries Chandrakant Velip was present to review the trials conducted by HPCL in the Mandovi River on Wednesday.After a review of the trails of LPG powered fishing boats, HPCL said using LPG as fuel would make it more affordable…
