The Curpem-Sulcorna mineral block, located in Sanguem-Quepem taluka will go for fresh e-auction on Friday, after the auction process was interrupted last week.
The Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG) has issued notice regarding resumption of the auction process. “The ascending forward e-auction for Curpem-Sulcorna Mineral Block XI that was interrupted on November 14, will continue on November 22,” DMG said.
The Curpem-Sulcorna mineral block is spread at an area of 87.64 ha area of which the mineralised area is 14.00 ha while 73.63 ha is non mineralised. The mine, having an estimated 9.79 million metric tons of iron ore reserve, was earlier owned by M/s Sesa Resources Limited. The block also has 1,56,728 metric tons of ore in form of dumps.
Last week, Telangana based Agarvanshi Steel Corporation bagged the Onda Mineral block, located at Sattari while the Codli iron ore mineral block, located at Dharbandora was secured by tycoon Jindal’s JSW.
