Goa Forward moving breach of privilege against WRD Minister

MARGAO
Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai on Monday said the party is moving a breach of Privilege against the Water Resources Department (WRD) Minister Filipe Neri Rodrigues for his reply on the Mhadei issue.

He also demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant immediately quit office, accusing him for selling Goa’s interests on Mother Mhadei.

Addressing the media, Sardesai said the statements made by the Chief Minister as well as by his WRD Minister on the Mhadei issue vis-à-vis the legal issue and the role played by state’s legal counsel in the matter.

Suspecting match fixing on Mhadei, the Goa Forward Chief said the party would immediately move the breach of privilege against the WRD Minister for giving false reply and tabling the same on the floor of the House.

While demanding the Chief Minister’s resignation, Sardesdai said it is now clear that the Chief Minister has again betrayed the people on Mhadei, which the latter considered as his mother, warning that the party will take the issue to the people.

Saying that the Pramod Sawant government has put Goa on a fast track sale, he said the Chief Minister is fast tracking the proposal to make Goa a coal corridor, to ensure that coal is transported to Karnataka from the MPT by rail and road. “The Chief Minister is just acting as a logistic contractor for Karnaaka on the instruction of his bosses from Delhi”, he alleged.
