A delegation of 'Mission Political Reservation for Scheduled Tribes of Goa' met the chairman of Parliamentary Committee for Scheduled tribes and Scheduled Caste members of Lok Sabha Dr Kirit Premjibai Solanki at his residence at Janpath Road, New Delhi on Sunday and discussed in detail about the political reservations for STs of Goa.
Member of the delegation Rupesh Velip informed that Solanki has assured the delegation that he will be placing his report before the parliament. It may be recalled that the Mission team had met Dr Solanki during his last visit to Goa along with other 29 Parliamentary Committee members when he had instructed the State government to send a proposal to the central government on the matter.
The delegation of 'Mission Political Reservations for the Scheduled Tribes of Goa' visited Delhi to do the follow-up on the political reservations for the scheduled tribes of Goa, which has been pending since the last 20 years. Solanki told the delegation that he has already issued necessary directions to the authorities on political reservation for STs of Goa and assured them that he will make sure that it is resolved at the earliest.
The delegation also discussed with Dr Solanki other pending tribal issues of Goa. Besides Ravindra Velip, other members of the delegation included Govind Shirodkar, Rama Kankonkar, Joycee Dias, Joseph Vaz and Rupesh Velip.
