The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) is expected to submit its report into the fire at Berger Becker paint factory to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday. IDC Chairman Aleixo Reginald Lourenco said the report is nearly complete for submission, which will assist the government to take appropriate action.
“We are submitting a report to the CM tomorrow (Thursday). Whatever is in our knowledge about the incident will be mentioned in the report,” he said while speaking to The Goan. The legislator visited the fire accident site on the second day to take a stock of the situation.
Meanwhile, the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) monitored the air pollution around the Pilerne Industrial Estate and found it to be within limits. “The air pollution is within the limit. We have two vehicles stationed in the IDC to constantly monitor the air quality and report to the office for further steps,” GSPCB Chairman Mahesh Patil said.
