Darshan Misal joined a select band of Goan bowlers to claim 100 First Class wickets when his slow left-arm orthodox guiles goth the better of Pondicherry batsman Gonnabattula Chiranjeevi during the Ranji Trophy match at Porvorim on Wednesday.

With the dismissal, Misal joined Avinash Aware, Shadabh Jakati, Saurabh Bandekar and Amit Yadav on the landmark. Speaking to The Goan after the day's play, the Goa captain appeared pleased with the achievement. "It feels good as getting 100 wickets for Goa is a milestone for me," he stated.

"I was looking forward to being an all-rounder in the team and performing for Goa," said Misal, who was primarily in the side as a batsman initially.

Misal is leading the Goa Ranji side this season for the first time and has been leading the team from the front with his all-round duties. He has had noteworthy scores of 71, 95 and 50* to go with his two four-fors (including the current innings).

Speaking on the day's play, Misal admitted that they were unable to capitalise on a good start. "In the first session, we bowled really well. There was a bit of moisture and it (ball) was turning. In the second session, Ankit and Karthik batted really well, with Karthik showing his experience. We could have bowled much better in the second session."
