A clash between two groups of studs over a common love interest involving the daughter of a politician led to the arrest of three persons in Mapusa.
The incident took place late Monday evening at the popular eat out at the Alankar theatre, Mapusa.
According to police, the accused Hussain Khan Pathan was friendly with a girl from Mapusa who recently gave up on him and befriended one Shridhar Hazare.
On late Monday night, Shridhar Hazare along with his friend Rohit Roy was feasting at a fast food joint at Alankar when the accused Hussain Khan Pathan along with Gauss alias Shah Rukh Khan, Mehboob Khan Pathan and others entered into the fast food joint armed with sticks and weapons and began attacking the duo.
In the assault Rohit Roy suffered head injuries, while Shridhar Hazare received minor injuries.
After assaulting the duo, the accused fled from the area. However some of Shridhar Hazare’s friends managed to catch hold of one of the accused Gaus alias Shah Rukh Khan and thrashed him.
On receiving information, Mapusa Police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured suspect from the clutches of the mob and referred him to the North Goa district hospital for treatment.
Hazare along with his friend Roy lodged a complaint against the suspects who were known to them.
The alleged accused Gaus alias Shah Rukh khan also lodged a counter complaint against Shridhar Hazare and Rohit Roy for assaulting him and his friend.
Acting on both the complaints, Mapusa police registered an offence under section 452, 504, 324 and 506 (2) of the IPSC against five persons.
Later, police arrested Gaus alias Shahrukh Khan (Duler), Mehboob Khan Pathan and Hussain Khan Pathan, both residents of Acoi.
