Kala Chetana, Volvoi will attempt to create a world record by staging seven shows of its famed Konkani drama 'Ganv Zala Zantto' in a single day.
The world record attempt will be held on May 18 at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda with the first show being staged from 7.30 am to 9.30 am and the seventh show being staged from 10.30 pm to 12.30 am.
Speaking to reporters in Panaji on Tuesday, one of the lead actors Rajdeep Naik informed that the other shows will be held from 10 am to 12 noon, 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm, 3 pm to 5 pm, 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm and 8 pm to 10 pm.
"In between shows, there will be half an hour break and we have a 5-year old Bhumee Naik acting in the drama who will participate in at least 5 of the 7 shows," Naik stated while adding that this is the first time that such a world record attempt will be held in Goa.
"The current world record is held by a Marathi play 'Albatya Galbatya' in which six shows were held in a day," he added.
Writer and actor Suchita Narvekar said that for the world record to be created the drama has to be staged with the same intensity and with the same actors, throughout the seven shows.
Narvekar further urged Goans to turn up in large numbers to watch the drama and encourage the actors in creation of the world record.
"While the entry for the shows is free, one will have to book their seat on our website," Narvekar added. The booking can be done at www.kalachetanavolvoi.com.
When questioned whether they have ever staged this many shows, actor Rajdeep Naik said that the maximum shows that they staged were three, in Mumbai in three different theatres.
"And here it will be staged at the same venue and we are already taking care of our health through exercise, proper diet, etc," Naik added while Narvekar stated that all the artistes are hard working and will be able to pull off the world record.
Naik then said that a team of the World Records Book of India would be judging the world record attempt. Actor Rajesh Pyarelal Lohia and others also spoke on the occasion.
