Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Goa will celebrate its 59th Foundation Day on September 30 through online medium.
The KBM has announced the list of awards and recipients for 2021. The Konkani Bhasha Mandal Service Award has been bagged by Suresh Pai.
The Serafino Cotta sponsored Felicio Cardozo Memorial Teacher Award has gone to Anant Agni. Juje Piedade Quadros Memorial Activist Award for Shirish Pai, Ligorio Furtado Trust Award for Journalism to Fr Kyriel De Souza, Dinesh Manerkar sponsored Chandrakant Keni Memorial Award for Best Columnist/ Column Writing to Mahesh Divekar, Dinesh Manerkar sponsored Ramnath Manerkar Memorial Award for Translation for Pandurang Nadkarni (Book- Pakhatya bagar Bhurr).
The Late Narsimha Damodar Naik Award for Literature has been bagged by Myron Jason Barreto (Book- Omparitlyan Sandesh - Collection of Essays), Late Rock Barreto Award for Literature has been awarded to late Shridhar Kamat (Book- Besur- Collection of One act plays).
The Konkani Bhasha Mandal sponsored Ramesh Veluskar Memorial Award for Literature has gone to Vaman Takekar (Book- Darya Dhan- Novel) The Manoharrai Sardesai Children’s Literature Award was not awarded.
The Chief Guest for the day will be esteemed writer Devidas Kadam. Konkani activist Anthony Vaz will be the guest of honour on the occasion. The celebratory function will begin at 5pm.
The winners of its yearly awards in the field of Literature, Service, Education, Journalism, Column Writing and Children's Literature will speak during the course of this online event. The audience will be able to listen to the winners, who will be given a platform to share a few words. This event will incorporate various Konkani musical and dance performances to engage its audience in the best possible way through the online medium. Konkani Bhasha Mandal aspires to promise a memorable time to everyone who will partake in these celebrations. The recipients of the awards will be presented with the same once the Covid-19 pandemic situation is under control, allowing the Mandal to organise a ceremony to present awards to the respective winners.
