The Crescendo Children’s Choir will celebrate the Divine presence of the Risen Christ with a ‘Mercy Concert’, a harmonious reverberation of heavenly praises at St Xavier’s Basketball Court, Mapusa on April 24 (Sunday) at 6.30 pm and at the Basilica of Bom Jesus on May 4 at 6.30 pm.
Initiated by Fr Ramiro Luis as Coordinator of Crescendo Music School on November 14, 2021, Crescendo Children’s Choir has been a unique musical journey where 67 young voices have been trained in vocals and soft skills under the guidance of Raj Fernandes D’Pietro, a well-known musician hailing from Anjuna.
The Mercy Concert highlights eleven hymns and prayers in five different languages: Latin, Italian, English, Konkani and Hindi.
The Chief Guest to grace the occasion is Fr Savio D’Souza, Director of the Diocesan Youth Centre, while the concert will also host the presence of noted musicians like Rocky Lazarus, Fr Romeo Monteiro, Fr Mathew Rebello and Sonia Shirsat who have come out to support the initiative.
The chief guest at the concert in Old Goa will be Fr Joaquim Loiola Pereira.
The concerts are free and open to the public, however, maintaining COVID-19 protocols and wearing a face mask is necessary for all.
“In these post pandemic times, music adds a healing touch to our souls and we invite your presence to witness the heavenly voices of the Crescendo Children’s Choir,” said Fr Luis.
