Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar relaunches hotmixing works at Loliem in the presence of Loliem-Polem Sarpanch Sachin Naik and the Canacona BJP Mandal.

A little over three months after the launch of roadworks at Loliem-Polem, Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar relaunched the Rs 4.10 crore roadworks on Thursday.
The roadworks involve repairs, tarring and laying of hotmix on different roads (Maxem to Agas, Loliem Church to Pedem, Dapot to Kajelkar, Dhaptamoll, Polem via Gali, Dhulgal to Shelim) a total length of 16 kms in Loliem-Polem.
Tawadkar relaunched the roadworks in the presence of Loliem-Polem Sarpanch Sachin Naik, panch and ex-Sarpanch Ajay Lolienkar, Canacona BJP Mandal President Vishal Dessai, BJP (South) District Vice President Mahesh Naik, Mahila Mandal President Vinda Satarkar and others.
According to Loliem-Polem Sarpanch Sachin Naik, former deputy speaker and ex-Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes has obtained sanction, tender and work order for the roadworks.
The sarpanch along with Panch members Ajay Lolienkar, Nishant Prabhudessai and Shailesh Pagi, PWD officials and a prominent resident, Pramod Prabhudessai, had inaugurated the Rs 4.1 crore hotmixing of all internal roads of Loliem-Polem village on January 8, shortly before assembly elections were declared.
During the launch of the roadworks, Sarpanch Naik had made a special mention to thank the then deputy speaker and ex-Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes for his all efforts to get works sanctioned.
However, authorities failed to continue with the roadworks in view of the Model Code of Conduct coming into effect soon after the declaration of elections.
