Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) will soon be forming various sub-committees and will also be appointing the committee chairmen.A special meeting in this regard was convened at MMC under the leadership of MMC Chairperson Leo Rodrigues on Friday afternoon.
Speaking to reporters, MMC Chairperson Leo Rodrigues informed that the elections for various committees will be held on July 8.
"We had called the special meeting to decide on the dates for the formation of various sub-committees. We will have a standing committee, market committee, sanitary and waste management committee and development committee. We have to take a meeting to finalise this process. We have decided to have the elections on July 8 and the last date of nomination will be on July 7. We have also felicitated ward councillor Vinod Kinlekar during the special meeting because he has been made a director on various committees including OBC Mahasangh, Directorate of Transport and also on the BSNL committee," said Rodrigues.
