CANACONA
The Rotary Club Margao Midtown has opened an orthopaedic medical equipment centre at the S S Angle Higher Secondary School in Mashem-Canacona.
The centre was inaugurated by Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar in the presence of President of Nirakar Education Society Prashant Naik, principal of Angle HSS Hemant Kamat, President of the Rotary Club Margao Midtown Adbrona Vaz e Valadares and Nilesh Lolayekar.
Tawadkar thanked the Rotary Club for choosing the remote taluka of Canacona to house the centre.
“Equipment like walkers, water beds, wheelchairs and walking sticks are much-needed for the poor people of Canacona, many of whom cannot afford to buy these equipment,” said Tawadkar.
Prashant Naik requested the Rotary community in Loliem, the body which will manage the centre, to reach out to every needy person from the taluka.
Nilesh Lolayekar, who has sponsored the equipment in memory of his late grandfather Shivram Lolayekar, also spoke on the occasion.
