After showing signs of a slowdown in the last couple of days, the monsoon is expected to gather stream next week with the weather bureau sounding an orange alert for three days on the trot from Monday onwards.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places in the State from July 4 to 6.
Strong wind with speed reaching 45-55 km/hour and gusting to 65 km/hour is likely to prevail along and off the Maharashtra-Goa coast on July 5 and 6.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture along and off the North Maharashtra-Goa coast during the two days.
So far, the State has received the highest rainfall of the season on June 30 while the seasonal deficit remained at 4 per cent.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature during the day was 30.8 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature recorded was 24.5 degree Celsius.
The humidity was at 92 per cent.
