Newly-elected Congress-backed Mormugao Municipal Council Councillor Shraddha Amonkar tested positive for Covid on Thursday.
Amonkar had been recently elected in Ward 8 and was greeted by a lot of supporters on her victory.
Shraddha, who is the wife of GPCC President Sankalp Amonkar, got herself tested after developing symptoms and has tested positive for the virus and will be under home quarantine.
She has appealed to people and supporters who may have come in contact with her recently to get themselves tested.
Meanwhile, GPCC Vice President Sankalp Amonkar who had also got himself checked has tested negative for the Covid.
