Senior citizens have made a plea to the police authorities to ensure that the men-in-uniform at the police training school, Valpoi, train the new entrants to the Goa Police with the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
A delegation of Goa Senior Citizens’ Federation led by President Diogo M Da Costa visited South Goa District Headquarters at Margao to apprise South Goa Superintendent of Police, about the problems faced by elders who attend police stations in the district to register their complaints as per the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act 2007.
The police chief and the DySP gave a patient hearing to the suggestions made by the members of the delegation comprising President Diogo M Da Costa, Adv Nicolau Collaco, Liberata Rodrigues, Donna Rozario, Anil Pai, Cesar Afonso and Sabie Collaco.
Police inspectors, police sub-inspectors and other police personnel attended the meeting.
