Rahul vacationing in Goa like Mamata, AAP: BJP MP

 PANAJI

Controversial Bangalore South MP, Tejasvi Surya who is the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha on Saturday hurled the 'political tourist' barb at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who was on a day-long visit to Goa to address Congress workers.

Surya who was also in Goa to participate in the exhibition sports events for the 'CM's Trophy' addressed a press conference where he likened the leaders of the Congress, the Trinamool Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), who are all challenging the BJP at the upcoming 2022 Goa assembly elections, to tourists in Goa.

"Rahul Gandhi, like Mamata Banerjee, like the Aam Aadmi Party, is a political tourist in Goa. Because of Covid Thailand may be not taking new tourists and Rahul Gandhi has come for his regular vacation to Goa," he said at the press conference flanked by former MLA Damu Naik and other local leaders of the saffron party.

Surya said, the BJP will win an absolute majority in the 2022 polls and was dismissive of the challenger parties like the Congress, AAP and TMC.

Surya is known to rake up controversies with his fork-tongued and rabid bytes and comments. Recently he ignited a huge controversy over an advertisement of apparel brand Fabindia calling for the brand's boycott and forcing the company to withdraw the advertisement.

Surya had accused the clothing brand of insulting Hindus by naming its festive clothing line for Diwali ‘Jashn-e-Riwaaz’ and releasing a promo. Although it was clarified that it was not a 'Diwali Collection' the controversy forced the brand to withdraw the promo campaign.
