The renovated ministerial block at the Secretariat adjacent to the Goa legislative assembly complex at Porvorim, will be inaugurated on Tuesday, the 36th anniversary of Statehood.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, the ministerial block will be rechristened "Mantralaya" as is the case in many other States of the country.
The entire renovation cost approximately Rs 16 crore and was completed within a year.
The state government is also in the process of emulating 'best governance practices' of other States of the country and the chief minister said, the Parviar Pechan Patra (PPP) of Haryana and the CM-Dashboard of Gujarat are two such being explored.
Sawant who spoke to the media on the deliberations at the NITI Aayog meeting he attended in Delhi last week said senior officials of his administration, will study both these initiatives -- PPP and CM-Dashboard -- and draw up an implementation plan in Goa.
The PPP initiative introduced in Haryana aims to collect authentic, verified and reliable data of all families in the State with an eight digit Family-Id provided to each family which is linked to birth, death and marriage records.
Gujarat's CM Dashboard allows the chief minister to monitor data from all e-governance applications.
Meanwhile, on the joyous occasion of Goa Statehood Day, Governor of Goa PS Sreedharan Pillai has extended his heartiest greetings and warm wishes to each and every citizen of Goa.
In his message the Governor has said, it was on May 30, 1987, Goa transformed from a Union Territory to a State of the Indian Union. The "Statehood Day" is a memorable day in the glorious history of Goa. It was on this day in 1987, Goa became the 25th State of the Indian Union. May 30 is a result of the struggle by the Goans and people from other parts of the country, to protect Goan's identity, and thus it has a historic importance. On this momentous occasion, let us pay tribute to the countless Goans who have worked tirelessly to shape our state's destiny. Let us honor their vision, sacrifice, and perseverance by carrying forward their legacy of excellence, innovation, and compassion.
Goa has achieved remarkable progress over the last decades, particularly in vital sectors such as education, health care, development, infrastructure etc. Goa is a land of peace and credit goes to the people for keeping up this rich tradition. Goa has many attractions. The State has inherited healthy democratic traditions in keeping with national objectives. People from various parts of the world come here to see and enjoy its natural beauty and cultural qualities. We must maintain all these pristine qualities and make the stay of our tourists pleasant, enjoyable and memorable. We have to ensure that tourism progresses on moral and ethical lines, Governor said.
"I am happy to state that Goa has achieved major infrastructure development that is world-class airport "the Manohar International Airport at Mopa" which was built on the theme of sustainable infrastructure with solar power plant, rain water harvesting and State-of-the-Art Sewage Treatment Plant with recycling facilities. Advanced technologies like 3-D Monolithic precast buildings, stabil roads, robomatic hollow precast walls and 5G compatible IT infrastructure. Another major achievement is the New Zuari Bridge with 8 Lane Cable, 4 Lanes on each side. It allows vehicles to cover the distance from Canacona to Panaji and vice versa within a short span of time.
As you all know that the socio economic indicators of the State as compared to other states of the country are very impressive. Goa has the highest estimated per capita income in the country, portraying a vigorous and healthy economy. Goa was also one of the three venues to host the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in India. Goa has also been selected for hosting some of the events of G20 Summit which will give us an opportunity to portray our State's rich culture and hospitality.
The Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa movement in the State have been lauded by eminent and distinguished personalities in the Country. The Swayampurna Goa programme has been studied as a best practice by other States in the Country, which itself speaks about its viability and achievement. The main aim of becoming Su-sampanna State is moving towards its attainment. The first Maritime Cluster of India is set up in Goa under MSME to generate employment. Industries and job creation is underway on a large scale. Tuem electronic manufacturing cluster is promoting local employment. Government has promoted Ayurveda in the State by providing State of Art Ayush Hospital at Dhargalim, Pernem.
On this joyous occasion, let us celebrate the spirit of Goa, its indomitable resilience, and the boundless potential of its people. May Goa continue to be a place where dreams come true, where every individual is empowered to realize their full potential, and where the values of democracy, freedom, and justice flourish.
Together, we will build a future that is worthy of our glorious past, a future where Goa shines as a beacon of progress, enlightenment, and harmonious coexistence. I once again extend my cordial greetings and good wishes to all my sisters and brothers of Goa on this happy occasion of Goa Statehood Day, Governor concluded.

In his message to the people of the State Sawant said, “The journey towards Statehood started with the Opinion Poll in 1967, which decided to maintain Goa as a separate and distinct State. May 30 - is indeed a memorable day in the glorious political history of Goa, as it was on this day in 1987 when Goa became a full-fledged 25th State of Indian Union. This day is a result of the struggle by Goans to protect their identity.”
CM Sawant further stated, "Goa is a land of scenic beauty and warm hearted people. The State is enriching India’s development path in many sectors. The State is full of opportunities & it is flourishing in all directions. It was the dedication and contributions of people which made it possible for Goa to achieve various developmental projects and programmes that are being initiated and implemented by the State Government.”
“On this historic occasion, let us remember and bow down to all the leaders, intellectuals and the people of Goa who have contributed towards the attainment of Statehood. On this day, let us resolve, rededicate ourselves to make Goa ‘Swayampurna’ and to achieve progress and development in all the spheres in a self-reliant manner,’’ CM concluded.
